The Ocean Explorer cruise ship with its 206 passengers and staff on board has run aground off northwest Greenland, state The Guardian.
Initially, there were hopes that the Bahamian-flagged vessel would detach on its own, but due to the tides, it is now stuck.
No injuries have been reported, but it may take some time before a rescue operation can begin.
– Our units are far away and the weather can be very unfavorable, says Brian Jensen at the Danish Arctic Command in a statement.
The nearest ship in the Danish fleet is 2,200 kilometers away and they expect to arrive only on Friday.
