Pokémon GO unveils the psychological spectacle with new shiny and research

The big psychological spectacle starts in Pokémon GO once a year. Certain content that you can use will be activated for about five days. We’ll show you an overview of what awaits you this time.

When is the event running? The psychological spectacle 2023 starts on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. You then have a few days to use the content. The event will end again on Sunday, September 24, 2023 at 8:00 p.m. local time.

The content includes changed spawns, raids and also research. A new Shiny will also be released.

Event bonus: During the event, you will receive more XP for catching Pokémon using Curveball throws. Niantic did not specify how much XP “more” means in the announcement.

New shiny: For the first time in Pokémon GO, you can encounter Shiny Monocyto. There is also temporary research underway that revolves around curveballs. For completing each task you will receive Monocyto encounters.

    The 7km eggs you receive during the event can contain Kussilla*, Isso*, Klingplim and Monozyto*. If you hatch a monocyto, the chance of getting a Shiny is higher than if you encounter a specimen in the wild. Field research:

    For completing event field research you will receive encounters with Kadabra, Galar Flegmon*, Woingenau*, Metang, Monozyto* and Iscalar*. You will also receive mega energies for Mega Simsala, Mega Lahmus, Mega Guardevoir and Mega Meditalis. Collector Challenge:

    There are a few collector challenges running to match the event. Stardust, XP and Mega Energy are the rewards you get from this.
