Jan’s latest video showing him testing a 120 centimeter long scythe blade has received hundreds of thousands of views.
On Tuesday, he took on a new challenge of his own making – to mow one hectare, the equivalent of two full-sized football pitches, of tall grass in one day. The location: a field outside Linköping.
Better than trimmers
The reasons are several, partly to focus on biological diversity – and partly to get the common man and woman to breathe new life into the classic agricultural and gardening tool.
– If you compare it to, for example, a trimmer or clearing saw, it is much faster, easier, cheaper and nicer if you can handle a scythe, says Jan Wester.
