China has reacted strongly to two North American ships traveling in the Taiwan Strait – one Canadian and one American.
It is now announced that it is increasing preparedness in order to, as they say: “protect national sovereignty and security”. This is reported by TT.
Passages take place regularly, the Law of the Sea allows passage in international waters, but China considers itself entitled to both the strait and Taiwan and regards this as provocation. China’s pressure on Taiwan has increased in recent years.
