At around 8:30 p.m., the police in Eskilstuna received a call about a shooting in the Årby area. Several patrols went to the scene where a man was found with a gunshot wound. He has been taken to hospital by ambulance.
– It is a man over the age of 18, says police spokesperson Marcus Anefur to TV4 Nyheterna.
The man’s condition is unknown, the police say.
Perpetrator is hunted
A major effort is underway at the scene, among other things to hunt down several suspected perpetrators who fled the scene after the shooting.
The police are handling the case as attempted murder and are also working to secure the crime scene, interview witnesses and analyze any footage from camera surveillance.
