Mysterious Resident Evil 4 Remake Update

We do not know if Capcom will make a new announcement, but the Resident Evil 4 Remake update arouses curiosity.

Resident Evil 4 Remake appeared with a surprise update on the Steam platform. This indicates that Capcom is making changes to the game ahead of an announcement. Although Capcom has not made any statement about the DLC after releasing the Mercenaries mode, it does not yet include the Separate Ways scenario we know from the original Nintendo GameCube version of Resident Evil 4.

Resident Evil 4 Remake Attracted Great Attention

After years of rumors about Resident Evil 4 Remake, the game was officially announced in June 2022 and released in March 2023, quickly becoming one of the best-selling games in the Resident Evil series.

In the game, players control the Leon S. Kennedy character again and travel through Spanish villages to save the American president’s daughter. The remake version was introduced by adding modern touches, new mechanics and changes to the story of the original game. It is rumored that the Separate Ways scenario may be announced towards the end of 2023.

Is a new DLC on the way?

According to SteamDB information, the Steam version of Resident Evil 4 Remake has received an update that indicates Capcom has made changes to some game files. With this update, it seems that many new game files have been added and some changes have been made.

While this new update doesn’t definitively indicate that a new DLC is on the way, it does fuel rumors that Capcom may be making new announcements at the Tokyo Game Fair 2023 event.

Resident Evil 4 received a series of Steam updates before the release of the Mercenaries mode, and this mode was offered free to all users. Subsequent updates brought mysterious achievements and badges that could be signs of a new DLC such as Separate Ways.

Additionally, it is known that Resident Evil 4: VR Mode is in development for PlayStation VR2. This new DLC will be available free of charge to PlayStation VR2 users who have the game on PlayStation 5. Capcom has not yet shared any information about its plans after the release of VR Mode.
