Do you still remember the fantastically bizarre fake trailers from the double feature Grindhouse created by Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez? In 2007, the two directors had several trailers produced for non-existent exploitation shockers. In conjunction with the films Death Proof and Planet Terror, the duo created an overall experience for horror fans.
Two of these fake trailers were later turned into real films: Machete and Hobo with a Shotgun. More than 16 years later, another one follows: The slasher film Thanksgiving by Eli Roth can be seen on the big screen from November. Now the first “real” teaser has been published:

About the cast of the horror shocker Includes, among others, TikTok influencer Addison Rae, known from the Netflix film One Like No Other, and Grey’s Anatomy star Patrick Dempsey, who already gained slasher experience in Scream 3.
Eli Roth not only directed the fake Thanksgiving trailer, but also the current feature film version. He has already pushed audiences to their limits in the past with disturbing horror films such as Cabin Fever, Hostel and The Green Inferno. Thanksgiving is his (very brutal) Homage to holiday-themed slasher flickslike Halloween, Black Christmas or Bloody Valentine’s Day.
When is Thanksgiving coming to the cinema?
Thanksgiving begins on November 16, 2023 in German cinemas. The film does not yet have an FSK approval. However, if it is anywhere near as brutal as the first fake trailer, we should assume an FSK 18 rating.
