At least 16 people have died after Russia carried out new attacks on Donetsk in Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says on X. According to the president, a Russian robot hit a marketplace in the town of Kostiantynivka on Wednesday.
“Russian terrorists have attacked a regular market, shops and a pharmacy and killed innocent people. The number of victims may rise further,” he writes.
At least 20 injured
Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal states that a child is among the dead. At least 20 people have been injured, according to him.
“My condolences go to the families and loved ones,” he writes on X.
The town of Kostiantynivka is close to the front line.
The attack occurs on the same day that US Secretary of State Antony Blinken visits Kiev to talk to Volodymyr Zelensky, writes AFP.
