Plowers go furrow to furrow Saturday in Sarnia

The Lambton County Plowing Match left its mark Saturday on a farm field on the Confederation Line in Sarnia.

This year’s running of the county’s competitive plowing event was hosted by Kevin Forbes and his family on their farm in Sarnia.

There were 30 plowing competitors on tractors entered, as well as four plowing competitors who were sharing two teams of horses.

The county match has been held since 1920 and this year’s event was the centennial of the first of three times Lambton has hosted the International Plowing Match.

Several hundred spectators were expected at Saturday’s county match and an awards banquet was scheduled for the evening at Camlachie United Church.
