In Pokémon GO you can currently complete a limited study to secure another Master Ball. Now a trainer has gained an important insight. We have summarized what that is for you here on MeinMMO.
What research is it about? To kick off the new Season Plenty of Adventures, Niantic has also introduced a new research format in Pokémon GO. Through a so-called limited study you should be able to get rare items.
The current study, which you can solve until November 21, 2023, includes a second Master Ball, among other things. The tasks are relatively extensive and complex, so that most trainers will need a while to solve them. But one trainer completed the tasks within a few hours and is now sharing an important finding.

What insight was gained? On Friday, September 1st, 2023, at 10:00 a.m., the new limited study Meisterball started, which will stretch almost over the entire season. So actually enough time to solve the tasks in peace. But a Japanese coach obviously saw things differently and solved the research within a few hours.
The content creator LeekDuck announced on Saturday via his X account (formerly Twitter) that the trainer lance918yuu solved all the tasks for the study in a very short time and thus answered an important question from the community.
Although he already had a master ball in his item bag, he was still able to secure the second one. He shares a corresponding video by the Japanese player, in which you can see the research being redeemed and then the two master balls in the item bag:
Why is this so important? Normally you can collect most items in Pokémon GO in larger quantities in your item bag. With the Master Ball, however, the developers repeatedly pointed out how rare it is. At least you’re getting a guaranteed catch.
For this reason, you could recently read on the Niantic help page that you can only keep one master ball in your storage. This caused quite a stir on social media, like mtdrunk247’s Reddit post, as players worried they would now have to use their Master Ball pointlessly to get the next one.
However, this note has now been adjusted on the Niantic website and the sentence Note that you can only keep one Master Ball in your bag at a time has been removed. So it’s probably not a bug and you can collect both master balls in your item bag.

Information provides relief: In the community, the realization that you can have two master balls is a relief for many players. Even if many trainers wanted an official statement from the developers, they are happy about this information.
Among other things, the Reddit user iMiind writes in the comments (via reddit.com): Thank you, finally someone has done the work for Niantic to communicate this.
Community Celebrates Trainer’s Achievement: But the realization is not the only thing that excites the coaches. It’s hard for many to believe how quickly a player can complete the extensive Timed Study tasks.
They find the 50 kilometers run, 30 eggs hatched and the 60 raids won particularly impressive, which the trainer lance918yuu has to complete in less than 2 days in order to complete the research.
