The traffic situation for both road and rail is drastically affected by the rainy weather that has moved in over large parts of Sweden. Now the Swedish Transport Administration’s press manager Bengt Olsson warns of collapsed roads and sinkholes.
– That risk exists right now, especially around Sala. There, water has not only come from above and from the side, it has also come from below, he says.
According to him, burst water pipes risk worsening road safety.
– Then the whole road is undermined and things like that have to be solved before you let traffic go at a place like that, says Bengt Olsson.
