The Paris International Rural Exhibition brought farm animals to the center of the French capital.
The famous Champs-Élysée in Paris was busy on Sunday. More than 2,000 sheep had taken over the street.
The rapture was part of a nine-day Paris 2022 agricultural exhibition.
Mayor of the small village of Láas in the Pyrenees Jacques Pedhontaa says that the Sunday rapture brings joy to the gloomy atmosphere in Europe. He criticized the Russian president Vladimir Putinia attack on Ukraine.
– First the coronation years and now it is shocking Mokoma Putinkin when we have a party here: We didn’t expect it at all, Pedhontaa says.
– I believe and hope that this will bring a moment of brief joy to the people of Paris and the people of the Île-de-France region; for anyone who finds a place in this world that is otherwise not easy at the moment.
A sheep farmer from the Landes in the south of France Luc Martin says that around 500 people from the agricultural sector arrived in Paris from his territory.
– We show the rural world to the townspeople, to the Parisians. This means making the rural life of the mountains more familiar. There is an industry that depends on this.
Last year, the show was canceled due to a corona pandemic.
