The grenade was examined by someone from the Explosives Reconnaissance Team and was found not to be dangerous. The explosive was taken away by the Defense Explosive Ordnance Disposal Service. It is still being investigated which resident brought the grenade to the municipal yard and why he or she did so. “We are glad that the evacuation went smoothly and that it was nothing in the end,” says alderman Gerrit Boonzaadjer. “But this is something we will look at: if something like this is offered, how do you deal with it?”
