The Sweden Democrats’ Richard Jomshof continues as chairman of the Swedish Parliament’s legal committee, as the opposition parties’ attempt to oust him was defeated by 9-8 votes in the committee.
STOCKHOLM The Swedish opposition estimates that not Richard Jomshof in this situation, be the right person to lead the Diet’s Legal Committee.
All four opposition parties, i.e. the Social Democrats, the Left Party, the Greens and the Center Party, demand the resignation of the chairman of the committee.
Jomshof, who is one of the central power wielders of the Sweden Democrats, has continued to communicate on social media even during the heightened security situation in Sweden. For example, Jomshof has called Prophet Mohammed a mass murderer.
The Law Committee met today, Thursday, for the first time after the summer break. Jomshof did not attend the meeting due to a trip abroad.
The opposition parties lost the vote 9–8. All the representatives of the so-called Tidö parties voted for Jomshof.
The Tidö parties are the three governing parties, the Coalition, the Christian Democrats and the Liberals, and the government’s support party, the Sweden Democrats. The name Tidö goes back to last autumn’s weeks of government negotiations, when the parties isolated themselves in Tidö Castle to hammer out their cooperation agreement.
A representative of the largest opposition party, the Social Democrats Ardalan Shekarabi was disappointed after the meeting. He was especially surprised by the Liberal Party’s support for Jomshof. According to Shekarabi, the liberals thought it more important to support the Sweden Democrats than to ensure Sweden’s security.
The moderate coalition party By Louise Meijer according to the ruling parties only followed the general practice, according to which each party is allowed to nominate its own committee chairman, for example, and other parties do not interfere in the selection.

Prime Minister of Sweden, chairman of the moderate coalition party Ulf Kristersson has described Sweden’s current security situation many times as the most difficult since the Second World War.
The distance between Sweden and the Muslim world has become extremely strained due to the permitted burning of the Koran in Sweden. In addition, there is a years-long online campaign in the background, in which Swedish social authorities allegedly kidnap children from Muslim families.
The worsening differences have led to the fact that the Swedish security police Säpo now considers the possibility of a terrorist attack very high.
The Prime Minister has appealed to the citizens and urged them to be vigilant.
However, Prime Minister Kristersson’s government is completely dependent on the Sweden Democrats, who are traditionally very anti-Islamic.
