(Finance) – The European Union has sold 1.582 million emission allowances (EUA) on the European Energy Exchange (EEX) a 85.52 euros per ton today, according to the report of the same exchange.
The European Union Allowance (EUA) is the official name of the European emission allowances; each of them allows the holder to emit one ton of CO2 or other equivalent greenhouse gas.
