A Skåne police officer receives a pay cut after firing a dangerous shot in a hotel room. But the police union is critical, reports Trelleborg’s Allehanda.

The police were lodged in a hotel during a warrant. When the service weapon was to be disassembled, she accidentally fired a dangerous shot, which has now led to the police authority’s responsibility board deciding on a 25 percent salary deduction for five days.

The union believes that the employer is responsible for the incident, as it was a new service weapon that the police had been trained to handle just the week before. The union believes that the incident can be explained by deficiencies in training and the fact that the police were quartered in a place without access to weapon lockers.
