From August 31, new rules come into force for all EPA drivers in the country. The rules apply to A-tractors, i.e. a car that has been converted into a tractor.
It is the government that has decided on the rule changes and they read:
– The rules that we are now introducing send clear signals to young people who drive A-tractors and also make it easier for the police who must monitor that the A-tractors are driven safely. The government has already previously announced that we want to introduce requirements for winter tires and now we are moving forward with even more measures to increase traffic safety and protect the A-tractor, says Infrastructure and Housing Minister Andreas Carlson in a press release.
One of the drivers who will be affected is 17-year-old Hampus Lundberg, whom SVT meets in Österbybruk.
– It is good that it will be safer for us who sit in an Epatraktor. It is also good that it becomes safer so that all parents, and loved ones, know that it is safe when you drive around, says Hampus Lundberg.
