On a daily basis, she works as a dentist, where her greatest fascination lies in pulling people’s teeth. But when 27-year-old Aus Ayob now appears at her Idol audition and sings “Lose Control” by Zoe Wees, she becomes Kishti Tomita’s first hallelujah moment for this season.
– I’m completely teary-eyed, I have to announce the absolute first hallelujah moment of the year, Kishti exclaims after Aus has done his audition.
And Kishti isn’t the only one Aus impresses.
– You sound recorded, states the jury’s Katia Mosally.
That’s how she was affected by her sister’s cancer news
For Hanna Ferm, who is in Gothenburg to coach the applicants, Aus talks about his song choice.
– 2022 was quite a tough year and there were a lot of emotions that I had not felt before, which were difficult to handle. She sings a lot about anxiety, I can relate so much to the feelings she sings about. That’s why it’s so natural for me to sing this song, I just feel every word she says, she explains.
After her sister was diagnosed with cancer in November 2021, Aus has a different outlook on life, which is the reason behind her now applying to the program.
– It took quite a toll on us. It was a reality that was hard to grasp. I realized that life is fragile, I don’t wait for life to happen anymore. You have to dare more and I love being on stage and then it came to this that “no, now I’m applying for Idol 2023 and then we’ll see what happens”.
TV4 has applied for Aus Ayob.
