This is how the AI was tested in Strängnäs – looking for signs of violence and conflict

In order to facilitate and speed up the use of AI, artificial intelligence, in the country’s municipalities, Sweden’s municipalities and regions, SKR, have taken the initiative for a national AI council. Digitization strategist Frédéric Rambaud represents Strängnäs.

AI technology has great potential and the best thing for the municipalities is to participate and benefit from and learn the technology early, he believes.

– The possibilities are quite endless I would say, but the question is what need we have to deliver a good service to the residents. The question is also how mature we are today to use the technology in a conscious way, he says.

Suitable areas of use

The work in the council must be focused on identifying suitable areas of use and producing recommendations on how AI can be used.

– If you look at the demographics, how we are getting older and how much more service an ordinary person expects, we will have to deliver so much more. Then we will not be enough, but need to use the help we can get, then AI can be a complement, says Frédéric Rambaud.

Tested in Strängnäs

Already today, the technology has been tested in a closed environment in Strängnäs. The AI had to go through a number of texts and look for signs of violence and conflict.

But even if the technology is new and exciting, it is important to hurry slowly, says Frédéric Rambaud.

– Until we have a better idea, we must limit our use of AI.

In the clip, Frédéric Rambaud tells how AI was tested to make it easier for the social workers in the municipality.
