Germany’s Denise Herrmann won the Kontiolahti quick race. Mari Eder was 29 seconds behind and was ninth in the race.

Eder was 29 seconds behind. The Finn shot one round of fines in the competition, he was satisfied with his overall performance.
– Pretty good race. I got a lot of support from the home audience and it was nice to have an intact competition here, Eder said.
Eder’s best finish in this season’s World Cup is the eighth place in the Oberhof Speedway in early January.
Nilsson one of the surprises of the day
In the competition, the Beijing Olympic champion Germany Denise Herrmann took first place. He fired one round of fines.
Second place went to Norway Tiril Eckhoffwho, like Herrmann, fired one fine. The Norwegian was five seconds behind the winner. Swedish Stina Nilsson ranked third, accompanied by a strong pace of skiing.
Nilsson was close to winning, but the passing of the second shooting site shattered the dream of winning. The prize pool was Nilson’s first career in biathlon.
The Swede switched from cross-country to biathlon after the 2020 season. 28-year-old Nilsson is a multiple medalist in cross-country skiing. His prize cabinet includes a sprint gold medal at the Pyeongchang Olympics.
Suvi Minkkinen was 25th in the race of the day. In Kontiolahti, women will have a chase competition tomorrow.
