The dramatic attack took place early in the morning on November 22 last year.
In a coordinated and joint raid, the Security Police, the Armed Forces and the National Task Force attacked a villa in Nacka municipality.
Heavily armed police descended from two different helicopters and stormed into the house by smashing the windows.
A 60-year-old man and his wife were arrested in the spectacular operation, which went by the name “Operation Spjut”.
Today, the man, who is both a Swedish and a Russian citizen, was charged with gross illegal intelligence activities against Sweden and gross illegal intelligence activities against the United States. The crime is suspected to have been going on since the beginning of 2013 until the arrest.
According to the prosecutor, the 60-year-old allegedly used his company as “a platform for the Russian military intelligence service GRU and part of the Russian state system for illicit technology procurement from the West.”
