The rain that has dragged on over Sweden during yesterday and the night has produced the most precipitation in western Sweden. Hällum in Vara in Västergötland received the most rain during yesterday with 71 millimeters.
In Värmland, several roads have been closed after the road was washed away by the masses of water and on other roads soil has collapsed onto the roadway, the Swedish Transport Administration announces. Road 509 from Trättlanda to Breviken southwest of Årjäng and road 172 at Breviken are closed in both directions due to flooding, writes Nya Wermlands-Tidningen.
During the day, it will continue to rain, with a focus on southern and central Norrland, according to SMHI.
– There may occasionally be heavy rain with elements of thunder. It looks like Västernorrland will get the most rain, says Erik Höjgård-Olsen, meteorologist on duty at SMHI.
