Sweden Democrats party leader Jimmie Åkesson just gave his summer speech in Sölvesborg.

During the speech, he commented on the Sweden Democrats’ approach to the next election in 2026.

– After the next election, we are either a government party or an opposition party, says Jimmie Åkesson.

He says that it is a serious situation in Sweden and in the world.

– These are gloomy and serious times in the world, and unfortunately they are also serious and difficult times in Sweden, he says.

He also comments on his meeting with Ukrainian President Zelensky in Harpsund.

He also comments on this summer’s Koran burnings.

– It’s quite stupid and anti-intellectual to burn books, he says.

But he believes that is not reason enough for a ban.

In his speech, Åkesson goes through what has been done and what will be done in a number of areas. He addresses crime and punishment, energy policy and migration.

In the area of ​​migration, he mentions that the possibility for asylum seekers to choose their own accommodation will be removed, that the police should increase the number of internal checks on foreigners and that the work to deport illegal migrants will be increased.

– These are small but important steps towards the EU’s most restrictive asylum policy.

He also brings up the election results last year.

– We are the second largest party. If you get 20 percent of the votes, you cannot get 100 percent of your policy back.

“The Tidö Agreement as silver tape”

In the speech, he insinuates that the Sweden Democrats will not be a support party for the next government.

– Before the election in 2026, we Sweden Democrats will take up the fight against the socialists to become Sweden’s largest party and after the next election we will either be a government party or an opposition party.

– The Tidö agreement is like silver tape, it works well, temporarily, to solve a problem. But silver tape is not the optimal long-term solution, he says
