Heavy downpours are expected in central Sweden towards Saturday evening and night. After the recent floods and high water flows in these areas, RiS, which cooperates between different rescue services, is prepared.
At the same time, it is more risky now.
— Everyone is a little on their toes. There has been so much water for a long time that the risks are even higher now, says Niklas Bruhn to TT.
— It is difficult because all water systems are very stressed right now. So there is risk of race, undermining and sinkholes, and those risks are even higher than before, he says.
RiS covers Gävle, Dalarna and Hälsingland. The preparations consist of materials in the form of barriers that can be set up quickly and contacts that have been developed between the municipalities.
TT: Is there a concern?
— No, we are prepared and we continue to prepare.
TT: Are there any areas that could become particularly risky?
— There are a lot of people who are in risk zones. It is yellow and red in many places on SMHI’s map.
