A lawyer has submitted a report to the Judicial Ombudsman (JO) after being locked up in the detention center in Karlstad, writes Nya Wermlands-Tidningen. The incident occurred earlier this summer when the lawyer visited his client to sit in on an interrogation.
After the questioning, the lawyer tried to call the staff’s attention to be released – without success. The lawyer estimates that he was locked in for over half an hour when he finally felt compelled to press the burglar alarm.
The incident is described as “extremely unfunny” and JO is now demanding that the correctional service comment on the incident.
