A 45-year-old man used a metal detector near an ancient site in Haninge earlier this summer. However, the man lacked a permit for the detector – and is now being sentenced for violating the Cultural Environment Act, reports Dagens Juridik.
In questioning, the man has stated that he is interested in archeology and wanted to try using a metal detector.
The man is now sentenced to a 30-day fine because he lacked a permit for the tool. The metal detector has been confiscated.
