The county administrations in Halland, Dalarna, Jämtland and Örebro counties must jointly investigate the consequences of the floods and must report back to MSB within six months.
The decision is based on the EU flood directive on flood risks.
– When society is affected by floods, it is important to be able to learn lessons for planning preventive measures and to be able to maintain adequate preparedness. The county boards’ investigations will form an important basis for the continued work to reduce the consequences of floods, says Maria Dåverhög, who works with natural disasters at MSB, in a press release from the authority.
