When will the games be announced?
The games are actually always released on the 1st Tuesday of the month, so that would be September 5th next. Experience has shown that the line-up for the next month will be announced on the Wednesday before this day. This usually happens in the evening.
There are currently no leaks for the games. Below you will find speculation about the next line-up. You should add the latest games for PS Plus in August to your library by September 5th.

What games could come in July? There are currently no reliable leaks for the PS Plus games in September. In the communities and Reddits, however, some titles are discussed that would be conceivable for PS Plus Essential.
For the following games, keep in mind that we have no definitive information and the following games are just speculation. Feel free to write us your speculations and wishes in the comments.
One game that has been suspected for months is Hades. The roguelike from the acclaimed indie studio Supergiant Games celebrated a huge success in 2020. The optics and the smooth gameplay inspire to this day. Even Hades 2 has now been announced, and as an indie title the game would fit PS Plus Essential much like Deaths Door.
After the current success of Baldur’s Gate 3, Disco Elysium would also be a good candidate for PS Plus Essential. Similar gameplay to BG 3, but in a completely different setting. You play a detective who has to solve a murder case. Topics are politics, psyche and own morality and philosophy.
Also a popular candidate for speculation is Crash and his racing adventure. Although Crash is no longer officially a PlayStation mascot, many still associate him with the platform. Accordingly, it would also be a good choice as a game. Crash Team Racing is also impressive in terms of quality, as it is a more challenging but fun alternative to Mario Kart.
Another celebrated and popular indie game is Cuphead. The Bossrush platformer is a real eye-catcher thanks to its 1930s cartoon look. The difficulty is also impressive and can keep up with classic titles from the past such as Contra.
Cooling down is great on hot days, and Powerwash Simulator is probably the best game out there right now. You just clean things with a pressure washer. But that’s exactly what the gameplay and the visuals are so satisfying that many players are excited. There’s also a Spongebob and Final Fantasy DLC if you’ve always wanted to clean something up.
Many players also suspect Mortal Kombat 11. The fighting game is best known for its brutality and explicit depiction. But the gameplay is also convincing and catapults the game into the Hall of Fame of Fighting Games. However, it is questionable whether you want to take the focus away from the upcoming Mortal Kombat 1 with a PS Plus release.
What does PS Plus Essential bring? Within Sony’s PS Plus subscription system, it is the service’s cheapest subscription model. This allows you to play online games and add 3 games to your library every month. In addition to this, you will also receive goodies in the form of currency or skins for free-to-play games.
