Baldur’s Gate 3 has a Paladin class that must meet special requirements if they want to keep their special abilities. Because the believing warriors must keep their oath. A player also tried to do this, but he failed.
This is what makes Paladins special in Baldur’s Gate 3:
Paladin’s goal was to save every innocent person
A noble paladin thought so: A user reported on reddit who said he was playing a paladin who had taken the oath of devotion: he had to abide by law and order, show courage and mercy.
He had also firmly resolved to save everyone, to be the hero in “dazzling armour”.
Paladin murders innocent with health potion
That’s how it went wrong: In Act 1, our brave hero went into a cave under the druids’ grotto and fought there with some goblins he showed.
On the ground lay an unconscious dwarf with one life point. The noble knight was out of healing spells, so he wanted to throw a healing potion on the dwarf’s body.
But even as the wrong one was flying, it dawned on him that he had made a terrible mistake. Because with a skill, Tavern Brawl, the paladin threw every item with a lot of force, with a certain part of his strength: It became clear to him during the healing potion that this also applies to healing potions.
To his horror, his holy paladin, who saved so many people, slew the unconscious dwarf, turned murderer, breaking his oath.
Here’s the reaction: The thread on reddit has 8,000 upvotes and 925 comments. People laugh at the noble knight’s branch. One imagines failed paladins sitting together in a support group and recounting how they broke their oath:
Others, however, say they only strayed from the Paladin’s “noble path” because they were seduced into it by a certain drow lady:
