Which elevators are broken exactly? As a traveler you don’t know that
Of the 450 lifts at more than 150 stations in the Netherlands, an average of 10 are permanently broken, according to ProRail. This means that these lifts are broken for more than a week. Travelers can indeed see these types of broken lifts in the NS app. This is useful for Annemarie from Houten, for example, because she knows whether or not she can use a certain station.
But it also goes wrong there: the app does not show the short malfunctions. And that is unreliable for people who need a lift to get out of a station. “We would also like this to be visible in the app, but that is not yet possible,” said an NS spokesperson.
