Man charged after attempted bank robbery

A 42-year-old Brantford man is facing charges related to an attempted bank robbery at Colborne Street and Icomm Drive.

Police were called on Aug. 11 at about 10:30 am about a man who allegedly entered the bank with his face covered and brandished a knife at staff before running away.

Police searched the area but were unable to find the suspect.

The following day at about 5 pm the suspect was found by the Brantford Police Park Patrol Unit at a Dalhousie Street location.

The accused is charged with possession of weapon for dangerous purpose; assault with a weapon; disguise with intent; and non-compliance of probation order.

Altercation leads to weapon charge

A Brantford resident is facing a weapons charge after allegedly threatening another man.

Police were called to a Nelson Street location on Aug. 18 at about 3:30 am Police say officers found the accused on Market Street and a knife was found nearby.

A 43-year-old is charged with possession of weapon for dangerous purpose and uttering threats.
