The police were alerted at 21:26 on Sunday evening about a suspicious shooting in the Södra innerstaden district in Malmö. Several callers stated that they heard several shots being fired in the area.
An injured man aged 25 was found at the scene. He was taken by ambulance to hospital and his injuries are described as serious, according to Region Skåne.
A police patrol has accompanied the hospital to hear the plaintiff.
Conduct vehicle checks
The crime scene has been cordoned off and the police have a large number of resources on site.
– Right now we are looking for a perpetrator or persons. We carry out vehicle checks, search the area and talk to witnesses at the scene if anyone has seen or heard anything of interest, says Evelina Olsson, press spokesperson at the police.
Technicians and special search dogs are also on their way to the scene.
The police have opened a preliminary investigation into attempted murder. There are no suspects or arrests yet.
