Josefin Olsson secured an Olympic place in the WC

Olsson came seventh in the ilca, formerly laser radial, at the World Sailing Championships in The Hague and thus clinched Sweden’s fourth national place for Paris next summer.

Josefin Olsson did it after winning the last sailing. Two years ago in Tokyo, she took silver in the laser radial.

Sweden had the goal of taking five national places to the Olympics, now it was four. Confederation captain Magnus Grävare thinks his national team is at the same level as in the Olympics in Tokyo after the WC gold through Vilma Bobeck/Rebecca Netzler in 49erX and the bronze for Emil Järudd/Hanna Jonsson in nacra earlier this week.

“As a team, we have made a clearly approved WC, with four national places clear of the five we hoped for in advance. With two medals, we are at the same level as in the Tokyo Olympics two years ago. Solid gold and bronze feel a bit better than two silvers,” says Grävare, according to a press release.
