All the info on Fast and Furious 11 and if it really wraps up the Vin Diesel action

All the info on Fast and Furious 11 and if

The first film about Dom Toretto’s Raser crew was released in 2001 and the series is now playing in the top blockbuster league. She bid a forced goodbye to the late Paul Walker in Fast & Furious 7 and raced towards a much-anticipated finale after Part 8.

This ending is much more complicated than one might assume. Fast and Furious 11 is already confirmed, but there’s another movie coming before that. So what does the future of the action series look like as it stands? What films are coming? and will the series really end?

Overview: What was the last Fast and Furious part?

The last part was number 10. Here are the Fast and Furious mainline movies so far:

2017 also saw the release of the spin-off film, Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw, starring Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham. In another article you can read the correct order of the series in terms of content.

Yes, Fast and Furious is about to end

The current plan is this: Fast X is the beginning of the end of the action series. The car adventure culminates in a cliffhanger and end credits scene that set the stage for the next chapters of the saga. The next Fast and Furious movie won’t be Fast 11, though.

Part 11 will be preceded by a Dwayne Johnson solo film starring Jason Momoa

Linking the F&F finale is new villain Dante Reyes (Jason Momoa from Aquaman). In Part 10 he wants revenge on Vin Diesel’s Dom. In the end it turns out that he also has a score to settle with Dwayne Johnson’s character Luke Hobbs. This story is told between Fast and Furious 10 and 11, in a Hobbs solo film. Johnson announced this on Twitter.

The Fast and Furious finale will consist of at least three parts according to the current status:

When are Hobbs and Reyes and Fast and Furious 11 coming to Germany?

Neither Hobbs and Reyes nor Part 11 has been filmed yet and will remain so as long as the double strike in Hollywood continues.

Vin Diesel has announced Fast & Furious 11 for 2025 (via Empire). That seems unrealistic, since two major productions would have to be shot and released within the next 24 months, namely the spin-off first and then part 11 of the main series.

If we assume that the strike will end soon, that both films will shoot smoothly and that the release dates will be about a year apart, Hobbs and Reyes will be in cinemas in 2025 at the earliest and Fast and Furious 11 in 2026 at the earliest. That would be an extremely optimistic agenda, in part because it’s questionable whether the busy Jason Momoa would be available for both shoots during that time.

Will part 11 be the last or will there be Fast and Furious 12?

For pragmatic reasons, the following applies to franchises: never say never. But the end of the Fast and Furious series hasn’t been as likely as it is now in a long time. Box office earnings have been declining since Fast and Furious 7. The last film, Fast X, fell well short of expectations for a $300 million blockbuster. At the same time, the salaries of family members are likely to rise in the long term and budgets to explode.

The series has been plagued by personnel squabbles for years, from the reportedly settled feud between Dwayne Johnson and Vin Diesel, the departure of regular writer Chris Morgan to the spin-off series, to the resignation of director Justin Lin during the filming of Fast X.

If this development continues, especially in financial terms, Fast and Furious 12 should be unlikely. It would be more obvious to try to do a soft reboot after the end of the Toretto saga, i.e. to continue the brand with new (cheaper) faces.

But that is pure speculation. Only two other F&F films are certain at the moment: Hobbs and Reyes and Part 11.
