Two people are arrested on suspicion of weapons offenses and attempted murder after the shooting that took place at a residence in Vallby on the night of Saturday.
Earlier the same day, a 35-year-old man was shot to death at Karlfeldtsplatsen on Norra Skallberget in Västerås. So far, no one has been arrested for the suspected murder.
Threaded connections
The 35-year-old man is already known to the police and the police believe that there may be links to gang crime.
– We make that type of connection, says Lars Jansson to SVT.
Risk of escalation
Now they are looking for tips and observations from the public.
– We believe and know that there are observations from above all the shooting that took place on Karlfeldtsplatsen earlier in the evening, he says.
Are there risks of more shootings?
– There is always a risk when there has been one or, as now, two shootings that there will be an escalation. It is incredibly important for us to do what we can to try to prevent something like this together with other actors in society, says Lars Jansson.
