The rally driver from Gotland, a 35-year-old man, died on Saturday during the Rally SM in Hässleholm. During the ongoing competition, the car drove off the road for unknown reasons and crashed into a tree.
For the co-driver, also from Gotland, was slightly injured, according to information from the medical service during Saturday evening.
“Support each other in grief”
Gotlands MF’s Bilklubb opened the clubhouse at 1pm on Sunday for everyone who wanted to meet or just stay for a while.
– We want to meet and try to understand what happened and be there for each other and support walking through the grief, says Anette Westöö.
The club cancels its next competition, which was supposed to take place on August 26.
