Sega and Geoff Keighley are offering excited fans a closer look at the upcoming Sonic Superstars game at the opening night event of Gamescom 2023.
Sega is giving fans a closer look at the upcoming Sonic Superstars game on the opening night of Gamescom next week. The last few years have been pretty exciting for fans of Sonic the Hedgehog. The live-action Sonic The Hedgehog movies have surpassed his controversial initial design and negative reviews of video game movie adaptations.
More detailed information about Sonic Superstars will be shared.
The Sonic Prime animated series, which also aired on Netflix, brought the character back to the small screens. On the gaming front, last year Sonic returned in 3D with Sonic Frontiers, taking the long-running franchise in a bold new direction.
Sonic Frontiers experiments with a gritty open-world format, while another Sonic game takes it back to its side-scrolling platformer roots. Sega announced Sonic Superstars during the Summer Game Fest livestream in June.
This new 2D product will be a game where Sonic and his friends compete in fast-paced co-op gameplay in live locations. Details about Sonic Superstars are still leaking towards an undisclosed release date of fall 2023. Now, curious fans will have the opportunity to take a closer look at the upcoming platform game.
