The Somali president wants to almost completely eliminate Al-Shabaab Islamists from the country over the next five months, or at least, according to him, reduce them to a few isolated areas that “will not cause problems”. Hassan Cheikh Mohamoud affirmed this during a discussion session on Thursday 17 August.
