The former president of Russia already published another slanderous message in Finnish in less than a week.
Vice-chairman and former president of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev has again written a skewed message in Finnish on the message service X, i.e. the former Twitter.
In his message, the ex-president is apparently trying to mock Finns’ supposed fear of Russia. Medvedev claims in his message that an independent Finland is Lenin’s merit.
“Pekka” and “Matti” appear again in Medvedev’s message. The same figures were discussed in the Finnish message published by Medvedev on Monday. The characters are probably intended to represent the stereotype of Russians about Finns.
“Pekka” and “Matti” have the following conversation in Medvedev’s recent message:
– Pekka, why are we really afraid of the Russians?
– They are invaders and barbarians.
– Who created independent Finland?
– There was a Russian, Matti, whose name was Lenin.
Emeritus Professor of Russian Arto Mustajoki previously told that Finns are described as slow and simple in Russian jokes. According to him, Medvedev’s Matti ja Pekka joke is part of a long continuum.
