  • A simple torch. Yes, a flaming torch will help you resist the Shadow Curse up to a point, but then it will lose its effectiveness. It’s a good idea to give a torch to multiple characters to expand the protective radius. You can buy torches from almost every trader.
  • Blessing of the Selûne: If you enter the shadow-cursed area from the direction of the Grymforge/Grymforge, you will reach a camp after a short time. Without spoiling too much: in this camp you can find allies, including a priestess of Selûne. If you ask her, she will bless you and the problem with the radius of the torch is solved, but unfortunately the blessing loses its effect in some areas and can no longer help.
  • Moon lantern: Already in the first act you hear again and again about the moon lantern, which is supposed to protect you from the curse. But funnily enough, you only get these once you’ve already advanced into the shadow-cursed land. If you come from the direction of the mountain pass, you will soon find a disgusting boss Kar’niss. He carries a moon lantern with him, but he doesn’t give it up voluntarily. The moon lantern protects you everywhere.
  • Spider Lyra: If you choose to be Evil in Act 1 and recruit the Drow Minthara, the Paladin will give you a Spider Lyre. You can use this to go to the Absolute camp in Act 2 and play it. A Drynne will then appear, guiding you through the fog. And don’t worry, you don’t have to be able to play the lyre, one try is enough.
  • Boon of the Pixie: Probably the most elegant and best solution is to free the pixie trapped in the moon lantern and ask for help. After a short dialogue, she blesses you as thanks for her liberation. The Blessing of the Pixie protects you from the damage of the curse anywhere and has no radius. ATTENTION: Sometimes one can lose the blessing. In return, the pixie will give you a bell that you shouldn’t sell to call her if you need the blessing again.
