Tim Burton’s 1999 dark fantasy horror film Sleepy Hollow is one of Johnny Depp’s best roles, about guilt and punishment in a spooky hamlet living in fear of a headless horseman.
On October 5th, Sleepy Hollow will be released for the first time in 4K Ultra HD with an additional Blu-ray, which is the uncut version with FSK16 seal, which you can now be pre-ordered at Amazon *. As a rule, only an FSK12 version cut by around 2 minutes is broadcast on free TV (via cut reports).
That’s what Sleepy Hollow is about
In 1799, in the small village of Sleepy Hollow near New York, naked fear reigned: three decapitated corpses have already accumulated and are said to be the work of a terrible horseman who haunts the area. The somewhat eccentric investigator Ichabod Crane (Johnny Depp) is then sent from the big city to solve the brutal murders.
Crane relies on scientific approaches to solving crimes that were still unusual at the time and does not want to listen to the supposed superstitions of the villagers, which sometimes leads to situations with black humor. Supported by the enigmatic Katrina Anne van Tassel (Christina Ricci), his belief in a reasonable explanation for the events is soon put to the test and the young criminalist is shaken.
