Google showcased the Watch Unlock feature, which is another way to unlock your phone besides fingerprint scanner or face unlock. The feature is an existing build on Android 13. Active Unlock It is based on its API.
According to reports, the Watch Unlock feature will search for your nearby Wear OS device for permission to unlock the phone, as far as we can gather after no fingerprint or face has been introduced to the smartphone. You can unlock the device by confirming its permission.
If your fingers are wet, dirty, face unlock doesn’t work or is disabled, you can tap a notification or swipe up on the lock screen to unlock the handset. Of course, your watch needs to be on your wrist and close to the phone.
Given that it runs on the Android 13-based API, it is unknown why Google delayed this feature. It is planned to become available to all users in the coming days.
