About 250 firefighters battled a forest fire on the Spanish island of Tenerife on Wednesday.
– The fire is out of control, the scenario is not immediately very positive, said regional president Fernando Clavijo during the evening.
The fire broke out on Tuesday evening in the northwestern part of the Canary Island. Several villages have been evacuated and roads closed due to the fire. A heat wave across the Canary Islands has left large areas parched, increasing the risk of forest fires.
