Baldur’s Gate 3: Find scratches

In Baldur’s Gate 3 you can add not only heroes to your group, but also cute companions. By far the cutest is scratches, a fluffy dog. However, you can completely overlook it, which is why we made this guide.

How do you get scratches? Scratches can be found in Act 1 in the east of the Emerald Grove. You can walk east from the Ruined Village waypoint and then head north along the wall.

Alternatively, you can come from the Druid Grove and just walk south through the river. In front of the Owl Bear Cave you turn off and walk straight towards the cute dog.

Scratch is “hard to find” because there is no quest to get you there. With a bit of bad luck, you will never meet this faithful companion. You can see the exact position on this map:

How do we get scratches in our team? You must earn his friendship, because as a loyal dog, he is waiting next to his old master’s corpse. But this is a situation that we want to change.

To do this, you roll on Convince and “Handle with Animals”. In general, you have to be careful in the dialogue. If you yell at the corpse, there will be a fight between you.

If you have convinced him, craters will not immediately join your group, but will be waiting for you in the camp. You can take it with you on your next visit.

Play and fight side by side, but take good care of him!

What can you do with scratches? You can pet him at first and play ball with him later. In addition, scratches bring you random items, sometimes even useful things like healing potions.

Once you have the ball, it can also be summoned as an ally and aid you in battle.

Can scratches die? Yes, both in battle and in your camp. In combat, however, this is not so bad. The cute dog can be summoned again at any time.

Things are a little different in the camp. If you create fields of flame there and Scratch runs through it, then his death is permanent.

What do you think of scratches? Is that little dog talking to you?
