Norfolk OPP are investigating a break and enter to a James Street, Delhi business.

Police say unknown individuals gained entry to a locked shipping container at the business at about 1:45 am Friday (Aug. 11).

A Husqvarna concrete saw, a Leica dual grade slope laser, a Multiquip Mikasa series jumping jack and a STIHL leaf blower were stolen from the container. The total value of the items was determined to be approximately $10,000, police said.

Norfolk OPP have charged two people following the theft of a backpack from a vehicle on Saturday (Aug. 12).

Officers were sent to a Queensway East address in Simcoe at about 11:14 pm to investigate a theft from a vehicle. Upon arrival, police determined that a vehicle parked on the property had been entered sometime between 6 pm and 10:30 pm A backpack, which contained a credit card and other items, was taken from the vehicle.

Police say the stolen credit card was then used at an area business just before 11 pm

A 25-year-old Norfolk County man has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, fraud under $5,000 and use of a stolen credit card. He is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 12, 2023.

Police have also charged a 39-year-old Norfolk County resident with possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 and possession of break-in instruments. He is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 12, 2023.

Riding lawn mower stolen

Norfolk OPP are investigating a break, enter and theft that occurred at a North Road address between Vienna and Frogmore.

Police were called to the address at 11:36 am Aug. 14 and upon arrival discovered a yellow Cub Cadet XT1 riding lawnmower had been stolen from a shed on the property.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call police at 1-888-310-1122. Those who wish to remain anonymous are asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS or online at www.helpsolvecrime.com to become eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2,000.
