A professional caster says he’s losing an important job after being unfairly banned from Twitch

    For the first time in 3 years I might miss the group stage of a tournament that I’m a core member of and have a lot, a lot of passion for participating in. At the moment these are the only days I have been hired to work this month and from other personal messages I have received recently it would be incredibly difficult to lose that income.

    Caster runs into a wall of silence on Twitch

    What was he banned for? That’s the absurd thing: he doesn’t know. He was only told that he had been banned for “hateful behavior”. He doesn’t know the details.

    An objection was rejected without comment.

    He’s spent days trying to find anyone to contact on Twitch, but can’t get through to anyone: he just can’t get through.

    Even the Reddit thread in LoL with over 8,300 upvotes and 190 comments had no consequences.

    This is behind it: Twitch’s ban policy has long been viewed as opaque and arbitrary: streamers often cannot understand exactly what they were banned for.

    This “hateful behavior” is the same reason why the German Twitch streamers Scurrows and Orangemorange were banned from Twitch for 2 weeks without giving any details. They have appealed against the ban and in fact Orangemorange can no longer be banned from Twitch in this way until 2026 (via Twitter).

    Orangemorange won the lawsuit while Scurrows lost it.
