The Eris variant, a subspecies of the Omicron variant of the coronavirus, is expanding its spread day by day.
VACCINE IS ON THE WAY
According to the news of Reuters, scientists intensified their work on a new vaccine for the Eris variant. It is feared that the vaccine, which is expected to be met like the flu vaccine, will be less popular than the coronavirus vaccine. When the vaccine was first made available in the US, 240 million people were vaccinated. This number has decreased over the years.
Health care provider CVS Health and pharmacies are expected to begin distribution of the vaccine for the Eris variant next month.
FAITH IN THE VACCINE DECREASED
Ashley Kirzinger, the survey director of the Kaiser Family Foundation, said that trust in coronavirus vaccines has been damaged. Expressing that people’s tendency to abstain and skepticism about vaccines has increased, Kirzinger said that they do not think that people who are vaccinated are protected from the virus.
After Pfizer and BioNTech, which have recently developed a joint vaccine, announced that there may be layoffs in their institutions, there is an atmosphere of uncertainty about the production of vaccines.
It was stated that last year, Pfizer and Moderna’s vaccine sales generated $56 billion worldwide, and this figure is expected to be around $20 billion this year.
SYMPTOMS OF ERIS VARIANT
The Eris variant, which is a subspecies of the Omicron variant, may also have symptoms similar to Omicron.
Sore throat is the biggest symptom. Pain or pain in the throat during swallowing and speaking is the most important symptom of the Eris variant. On the other hand, throat dryness and redness are also among the symptoms.
On the other hand, experts describe the symptoms of the Eris variant; runny nose, sneezing and coughing.
