The Mortal Kombat 1 leaker has revealed that a new single-player game mode is coming that will offer players entertainment beyond the story mode and multiplayer battles.
Mortal Kombat 1 is causing a stir as it’s a new installment to NetherRealm Studios’ popular fighting game franchise.
Mortal Kombat 1 new game mode leaked
Mortal Kombat fans got more playable characters last week by announcing the Mortal Kombat 1 Reptile and more exciting surprises at the EVO 2023 event. Reptile is back, and apparently in line with the good characters, Ashrah and Havik from Mortal Kombat: Deception were also featured in the Mortal Kombat 1 trailer.
Mortal Kombat 1 will bring well-known fighters to fans in unconventional roles as the Fire God Liu Kang creates a new world and gives warriors a new life opportunity. However, a new leak reveals that this surprise is not limited to Mortal Kombat fans.
According to information revealed by Twitter user thethiny, Mortal Kombat 1 will feature a new single-player game mode called “Invasions”. In this mode, Mortal Kombat 1 players will travel through Mortal Kombat universes and fight the invasions of each season. The leak does not provide any further details. However, he explains that Invasions mode will offer “impressive battles” and a unique cast of characters from which Mortal Kombat players can choose their fighters.

A recurring debate in the fighting game community is how it can impact audiences beyond 1-on-1 battles. This year, Capcom brought the World Tour mode to Street Fighter 6 as if it were an in-game RPG. Meanwhile, Mortal Kombat 1 will abandon the Krypt, introducing a new unlocking system.
Breathe new life into the single-player experience in Mortal Kombat 1
As Mortal Kombat 1’s release approached, news and leaks about the game started to appear more frequently. A recent Mortal Kombat 1 leak suggested that Shujinko from Mortal Kombat: Deception would be returning in the series as a Cameo fighter. On the other hand, rumors are already circulating that point to which fighters players will see in Mortal Kombat 1’s second wave of DLC.
Ed Boon said there won’t be a battle pass in Mortal Kombat 1. However, the leak has caused players to speculate as to whether the Invasions mode will be any kind of season pass. NetherRealm Studios has confirmed that Mortal Kombat 1 has microtransactions. But he didn’t give details on how these would work.
