Netflix’s One Piece series is a mammoth project. Not least because of the sheer mass of manga and anime templates: Eiichiro Oda’s manga currently comprises 106 volumes, the One Piece anime 1071 episodes. But which ones will be implemented for season 1 of the Netflix adaptation?

The plot of One Piece in manga and anime is divided into so-called arcs. These are completed story arcs within the adventure of Straw Hat Pirate Monkey D. Luffy (Iñaki Godoy in the Netflix series) and his crew. Multiple arcs are grouped into sagas named for their setting. For season 1 of the adaptation, according to Collider implemented the so-called East Blue Saga, which represents the first section of the templates.
The East Blue is one of the oceans of the One Piece world. In the saga, Luffy begins his Search for the legendary treasure One Piece and put together a powerful crew at East Blue. These include the swordsman Zoro (Mackenyu) and the thief Nami (Emily Rudd). Together they encounter villains like pirate clown Buggy (Jeff Ward) and fishman Arlong (McKinley Belcher III).
The East Blue saga includes a total of six arcs that told in the first 12 manga volumes and 53 episodes of the anime become. Many count the first 61 anime episodes as part of the East Blue saga. However, episodes 53-61 are so-called fillers that do not have a manga template and do not add any decisive twists to the East Blue story.

However, fans of the manga or anime templates will not find every story twist of the East Blue saga in Netflix’s adaptation. The original is simply too detailed and extensive for this. It is not yet known which parts the implementation has left out. On Reddit, some fans even fear for the entire final arc of the saga.
When is the One Piece series coming to Netflix?
The One Piece real-life series is scheduled for August 31, 2023 start on Netflix. The cast members are already impressing with their dedication. Sanji actor Taz Skylar trained for One Piece up to 10 hours a day.
