Heavy rain has led to flooded roads and properties in Örebro County.
During the night, the rescue service responded to more than 70 flood alarms.
During Saturday evening, a line of rain moved in over Sweden from the west, with Halland as the first stop. During the night to Sunday, it moved northeast, between Vänern and Vättern, in the direction of the southern Norrland coast.
Örebro County received the largest amounts, where just over 30 millimeters of rain has fallen since last night.
– These are amounts that are on a par with torrential rain, but in order for us to issue a warning, the amounts must fall within three hours. It hasn’t really done that, but this is since eight last night, says Erik Höjgård-Olsen, meteorologist at SMHI.
70 alarms
However, the large amounts have led to the rescue service in Örebro having to go out to over 70 addresses during the night and morning due to flooded properties.
– We still have about 40 on the waiting list that we haven’t had time to do anything about yet. But we suspect that there is a lot more that got water during the night, says Peter Backman, rescue manager in the Bergslagen rescue region, to Expressen.
Several roads have also been flooded, according to the newspaper.
Matted off
In several other places, including in Halland and in Östergötland, the rescue service has also been busy dealing with flood alarms in the wake of the rain.
Since this morning, the rain line has moved past Örebro and currently has its center of gravity in Söderhamn, according to Erik Höjgård-Olsen.
– It will gradually ease off during the day, but even when it reaches northern Norrland, there will be heavy rain in Västerbotten and Norrbotten counties. But it is not as large amounts that fell over Örebro, it is perhaps about ten millimeters within six hours.
After the rainy weather His progress during the week, several warnings have already been issued for high water flows, most of them in a belt between Sundsvall, Gävle and Dalarna.
